TRAVEL CLOTHING
In these days of being more "weight-conscious" with your luggage,
lightweight and easy-care are essential qualities in the clothes you travel with.
If you plan to be active outdoors, having good, functional clothing
will make your adventure much more comfortable. Learn also about clothes made with Merino wool, an amazing fiber
that resists odor retention!
For the Active Vacation / Outdoor Adventure
Packing Light / Quick dry:
100% cotton is generally NOT your best choice since it dries so
slowly. It can also be heavier than other fabrics. Jeans are not only much heavier than hiking
pants, but they are very slow drying. Tip: If you want to take a pair of jeans and you're
bag is close to it's weight limit, wear them on the plane instead. (The same goes for your heaviest pair of
shoes)
Hiking shorts, pants and convertible pants work very well for traveling
because they are light-weight, quick-drying & very comfortable.

Multiple wearings between washings:
Merino Wool
- is the magic fiber that makes socks and shirts (generally found in hiking &
biking clothes) resist odor retention. This allows you to pack much less active-wear since you can
wear them over-and-over without washing (I had to try it to believe it!).
One brand that uses Merino Wool is Ibex Outdoor Clothing. They make
Merino Wool Apparel, Wool Cycling Jerseys and Apparel, Organic Cotton, Baselayers, and Technical Wear.

Ibex - Womens
Another brand using Merino Wool is Icebreaker:
Icebreaker - Mens
Icebreaker - Women's
Icebreaker products work very well as a base layer because they remain
ODOR-FREE regardless of how many times you wear them!
Weather:
Jackets and vests designed for travel; water-resistant or -proof jacket w/hoodie,
shoes, hat for rain or snow.
