Digital Point and Shoot Cameras
If you are a novice at photography and looking for something small (pocket-sized), easy
to use and takes excellent photos, I have been very impressed with my Canon Powershot digital cameras as well
as my daughter's Kodak digital. Being one with professional photography experience, these little
digitals take photos that are generally very well exposed and focused. For those
serious photographers, they are especially handy for taking those "fun" pictures that might not warrant digging
out the bigger, professional-spec Nikon.
They can also take video, which in a pinch (if your video camera is not available)
are easy to take and fun. Keep in mind that when you use this video feature, you will use memory
quickly so use it sparingly or load your camera with the largest memory card you can afford (minimum 2 GB).
This is an example of what I described above:
I currently own the Canon Powershot SD1200is, as pictured above. I was very happy with
my previous Canon but ruined it while kayaking.
While trying to dig it out of a plastic ziploc bag, I accidently dropped it into a
puddle of salt water on the bottom of the boat. LESSON: consider purchasing a waterproof digital camera for your adventure photography.
