Vacations come in many shapes and sizes to fit your budget or time
constraints. A vacation of any length, however, is better than no break at all.
Perhaps taking several weekend getaways instead of the one big annual vacation would be preferable for
more frequent breaks.
Booking a hotel within driving distance for a night or two can be money well-spent for the relaxation and
rejuvenation that that short visit can bring.
For vacations, don't forget also about destinations where the dollar
goes farther, package discounts as well as advance booking discounts.
Want an alternative to the traditional hotel/resort-based vacation/getaway?
Consider camping. Yes, there are
some equipment costs necessary if you have never camped and you need a cooler climate to sleep comfortably, but
there is much fun to be experienced exploring Nature. Activities: Hiking, mountain biking, fishing,
canoeing/kayaking, birding, etc. It is a great bonding experience, and many State and National Parks are
truly beautiful and fun.
